ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture utilizes hair thin needles to stimulate the body's own natural healing ability. Traditionally Acupuncture's therapeutic benefit is explained by its ability to affect the the flow of qi (energy) in the body. Qi that is abundant & flows freely is considered vital to life & is responsible for the creation, movement & nourishment of every part of the body. Western medicine explains acupuncture by its ability to stimulate the nervous system, which then changes the body's biochemistry within the muscular, nervous, digestive, immune & circulatory systems. These biochemical changes fundamentally alter the body experience of pain & influences it's self regulating systems. It is these changes stimulate the body's natural healing ability & promotes mental & physical well being.

TUI NA THERAPY

Tui Na is traditional Chinese manual therapy meant to stimulate acupressure points on the body to encourage the body's ability to heal. Tui Na therapy uses various manual techniques including brushing, kneading, rolling, pressing, & rubbing on specific areas of the limbs & torso as well as between each of the joints, to attempt to open the body's Qi (energy) and encourage it to move freely. Tui Na can be both a gentle pressure technique with slow movements as a deep tissue therapy with quicker movements meant to invigorate Qi.
